Meet the Team

Our team members are carefully selected based upon a qualified level of experience, relevant skills and expertise, a high commitment and motivation to serve, and a proven and reliable sense of character. Additionally, for all investment advisory representatives of the firm, we seek those that have obtained extended degrees or a professional designation –such as the CFP®, CPA®, CFA® or ChFC®–and maintain all required licenses (Series 65 or Series 66).

AJ has over 20 years’ experience in the financial service arena including the last 15 years as a family wealth advisor and investment manager. Prior to founding Principia Wealth Advisory, he spent five years serving as a financial consultant through a broker/dealer relationship. His previous career engagements include working for Highland Capital Management, a hedge fund based in Dallas specializing in structured finance products for institutional investors, and Deloitte & Touche as a senior auditor in Dallas. He is currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”).

AJ is a proud Texas Longhorn alum and has been married to his wife, Hope, for over 13 years. Together they have the great gift of raising their daughter, Hannah, and son, Colton. As a family they have the privilege in seeing not only their own lives transformed but participating in the transformation of others as well through Watermark Community Church.

Mike joined PWA in 2020, bringing over 30 years of financial experience and specialized expertise to the firm – focused on personal financial planning and comprehensive wealth management strategies (including tax-advantaged and beneficially structured philanthropic gifting endeavors). Most recently, Mike served as Executive Vice President and Senior Wealth Manager with True North Advisors, LLC in addition to fulfilling a strategic development role and serving as a valued member of the Investment Policy Committee.

Mike graduated from Baylor University in 1988 with a BBA degree in accounting and finance. Following graduation, he worked as a senior auditor with Ernst & Young, held several corporate finance positions, and operated his own tax and financial planning practice as a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and Certified Fund Specialist (“CFS”) before establishing his own registered investment advisory firm in 2000.

Beyond serving on the Board of Wind River Ministries for ten years, Mike has also been active with several other charitable boards and committees, including YoungLife and the Faith Partners Foundation. He enjoys outdoor activities, volunteer opportunities, and travel to the beach or mountains.

Andy began at PWA in 2015 after joining Teach for America out of college and working as a middle school English teacher for three years at Uplift Heights Preparatory. He became interested in financial planning following a conversation with a friend who pointed out that money was often the biggest pain point for people, whether they had a lot of it or only a little. He is passionate about bringing clarity and peace-of-mind to clients’ financial lives and helping them learn how to be great stewards of their resources.

Originally from Southern California, Andy graduated from USC in 2012 with a degree in Business Administration and is also a CFP® practitioner. He lives in West Dallas with his wife, Kristi, and their daughter, Eliza.

Hope formally joined the PWA team in August, 2019 after spending several years in the classroom as an assistant teacher at Trinity Christian Academy. Her giftedness in organization and administration as well as her rapport with clients have been a tremendous asset to our team and our clients. Hope assists with scheduling meetings, processing account forms, executing our client service plan and ensuring that our clients’ needs are taken care of efficiently.

Hope grew up in Lubbock, TX and headed east to attend the University of Florida. She is a proud Gator to this day. She received her undergraduate in Communication and her Masters degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Texas Dallas. She specialized in delivering therapy to children with cochlear implants for over ten years.
